Food Waste Recycling
Food scraps and food soiled paper are the largest single item in our waste stream - making up nearly 75% of what restaurants and grocery stores throw away in Delaware. Food scraps are a resource, not a waste. By participating in the food scrap recycling program, food scraps and food soiled paper are sent to a composting facility.
Diverting food scraps from the landfill will save your company money on your overall waste bill, and improve your company image through sustainable business practices. Reducing waste destined for landfilling will help mitigate some of the problems associated with landfills, it’s good for the environment, and it’s simply the right thing to do.
Blue Hen Disposal understands that every food waste generating business has different process, time, or space constraints. We can design a waste reduction program that helps your business save money and dramatically increase your recycling rate.
Blue Hen staff will provide continued support, educational training, and feedback on all aspects of the food scraps recycling program. If you ever have a question or a problem, simply contact a Blue Hen staff member and we’ll respond quickly.
