Construction Waste Plan
Blue Hen Disposal can design a construction waste management program for your business or jobsite that can help achieve LEED, NGBS, or other comparable building certification credits. In addition to helping the environment, being green will help your company save money by source separating construction waste into different dumpsters at the jobsite. Blue Hen can reduce your overall waste bill by recycling many materials instead of burying them in the landfill.

All materials are hauled to DNREC permitted facilities for recycling. The clean wood and land clearing debris dumpsters are hauled to the Blue Hen Organics Composting facility and manufactured into soil amendments. Masonry materials are hauled one of the approved recycling centers in Sussex County for crushing and reuse. Materials must be sorted into different dumpsters because there are no construction and demolition material recovery facilities built in Sussex County, DE. At this time, there are no economical alternatives to recycle drywall or other building materials. We are actively exploring ways to recycle additional materials from building construction and we will keep you up to date as we expand our list of acceptable materials.
